Neurodiversity vs Neurotypical

If you're like me, the words What, Why, Where and When will be etched firmly on your brain.   How many times have you heard these irritated questions - "What are you doing now?"; "Why did you do that?"; "When will you get on with this?" or "Where on earth did you put those?".   If this sounds familiar, then the chances are you are Neurodiverse.  While we are trying to make sense of the Neurotypicals comfort zone, they are trying to make sense of our seemingly bizarre actions.  It is all rather exhausting and sometimes life seems like an endless journey to satisfy unanswerable questions.

Neurotypicals being in the majority, have the benefit of fitting into a society built around their neural patterns.  On the other hand neurodiverse folk are designed for an entirely different society or parallel universe.  Although we are all neurodiverse, when you get down to the nitty gritty, some of us find it harder to mould to normally accepted environments and this can be of detriment to our health.

The Neurodiverse experience life in a different way from the Neurotypicals and often claim a joyousness  missed by those who are able to accept strict society profiles.  Some people consider neurodiversity a curse and of course it can be, if it is allowed to dominate your activities in the neurotypical world.  Either way, all of us, typical or diverse have an intense struggle to find our place in this world.   Through the ages folks who were diverse have fought to bring their version of reality into the society norm.  There was a time when diverse thinkers were drowned as witches; whereas now they receive academic accolade.

The path to peace of mind is all about finding your own natural environment, a place where things start to make sense; a place where the "Why" questions stop flying at you and a place where you can feel proud.  Keep searching for your own peaceful place, you are not alone, there are plenty of us about.
